Charlbury's Cricket Tots

It is with great pleasure that Charlbury Cricket Club can confirm that for the next 6 months from April to September 2008, the cricket tot session will run at Charlbury Cricket Club, each Saturday morning.

The session is open to all children between the ages of 3 and 6 years of age, where the emphasis of a 45 minute session concentrating on enjoyment and the introduction to very basic sports and ball skills.

It is proposed to run the Saturday mornings at Charlbury Cricket Club under the same structure as last year.

10:30am-11:15am - ECB Kwik Cricket Basics "Yellow Group" (Age 5-6)
This group runs at the same time and location as Cricked Tots and is open to both boys and girls aged 5 and 6 who wish to develop cricket skills in line with the ECB coaching guidelines. The aims of this group will be to develop the fundamental basics of cricket of batting, fielding and bowling under a structured programme of coaching which will take place between April and September offering gradual development of all aspects of the cricket game. The emphasis will still remain on fun and group participation. If your child would prefer to remain within the Cricket Tots section this can easily be accommodated.

10:30am-11.15am - Cricket Tots
This session is open to all children between the ages of 3 and 6 and is designed to be a very relaxed and fun filled 45 minutes introducing all ages to an environment of sporting fun with general introductions to the games of football, cricket, rugby, rounders and general sports games at a very basic level. Normally, dependant on numbers, the session starts off with a general warm up for all participants and then we split into various groups depending on age and ability to start introduction to various sports. We then finish the session with a general get together and warm down.

Please Note - It is essential that for the Cricket Tots session all children are accompanied by one adult per family. We encourage (although it is not mandatory) for parents, grandparents or guardians to participate with the children. We cannot emphasise the fact that the whole session is designed to be fun.
