Another nail biter of a game for the women!!

Yesterday we travelled to Stony Stratford and claimed a great win following a tight game!! 🤩🫣

Abi and Katie got us off to a flying start with the bat, making a partnership of 59. Lottie then came in and continued to build on the foundations set with Abi, both hitting boundaries regularly. 🔥 We raced past 100 in just 10 overs with Abi bringing up a classy 50 on her way to her final total of 65. 💪 Next in came Philippa who together with Lottie added another 62 runs to our score, putting us in a strong position of 166 for 3. Lottie scored a brilliant 60, setting a great example for younger teammates on how to bat safely but aggressively. 👏 Stony Stratford’s tight bowling meant that our run rate decreased, but the batters enjoyed valuable time at the crease and helped us finish our batting innings on 211 off 32 overs.

Onto the bowling where Tally succeeded in getting off to a good start with a wicket in her 2nd over. 😮‍💨 Stony Stratford then started to find their feet and put the pressure on us, taking the score to 108 off 20 overs. But up stepped Megan to take the key wickets and Philippa, Georgia and Em built up pressure and put us on top. 🤩 2 wickets followed from Philippa and 3 for Carys.

In the field, Aysha kept up the team spirits, 2 brilliant catches from Flo and a spectacular boundary dive from Becca helped seal an 11 run win to secure 3rd place in the League!! 🙌
