What a day. What a match. What a performance. 🤩
Today we travelled to Falkland CC and pulled off a thrilling 2 run victory!! Batting first after winning the toss, we were led by an sensational innings from our skipper Abi, who smashed a brilliant 185 off 130 balls 💥 A quick 21 from Molly and an awesome 36 from Aysha contributed to two key partnerships that drove us to a solid 274/7 from 40 overs.
Falkland came out strong and pushed us all the way, taking the chase deep into the final over. It was a nail biter right to the end, but our bowlers held their nerve and the fielders kept things tight to close out a 2 run win. Some top class bowling from our openers, with Jess picking up 3 wickets and Carys taking 2, as well as Emily picking up 1. We once again showed that we can be a strong fielding unit, with everyone setting the standards very high, including a sharp direct hit run out from Carys and brilliant catches taken by Agnes, Emily and Georgia 👏👏
It’s a massive 25 points for Charlbury in the Home Counties Womens Premier League, and a performance to be very proud of!! 💪
Thank you to Falkland for hosting us and for a great game of cricket!! 🤩
The day was topped off with some slushies (thank you to the Monks 🥰)
