Records Smashed by the Women's XI

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, we made a steady start through Abi Flory (34) and Rebecca Woodnorth (13), before Xanthe Bolam and Aysha Monk helped build the innings through and excellent partnership. Xanthe finished unbeaten on 197* from 106, striking 31 fours and a six, whilst Aysha anchored the other end with a well made 52 not out. The pair shared a record breaking 278 run stand for the fourth wicket as we closed on 352-3 from our 40 overs - the highest team total in the women's team history. Xanthe's innings also set a new club record for the highest individual score by a Charlbury Cricket Club player. With the ball, the team kept things tight from the start and took wickets regularly to stop Moreton building any momentum in the chase. Megan Lovick made the early breakthrough, whilst Aysha bowled an excellent spell of 1-5 from 5 overs. Xanthe rounded off a great day personally with figures of 3-6 from 4 overs, and wickets from Natalia Plater and Rosa Camilleri helped wrap things up as Moreton were bowled out for 65 in 19.5 overs. A great team performance all round, and thank you as always to everyone who came down to support. Click here to view the scorecard!
